Once you sign your lease, Apartments at Iowa and Apartments Downtown does whatever they want.

Apartments at Iowa and Apartments Downtown has a long history of illegally stealing deposits and operating outside of the lease contract. Look it up online or through the local newspaper search.

If you think the University of Iowa or the City of Iowa City or some “Tenant’s Association” is going to help you, FORGET IT.

Apartments at Iowa and Apartments Downtown does not perform background checks on all applicants, either for leasing or subleasing. They lie in their contract language about this.

NEVER sign a lease with any property owned in the Iowa City area by Bryan Clark, Jeffrey Clark, James A Clark, Loretta C Clark, or Tracy Barkalow.

NEVER sign a lease if Megan Clabaugh manages the properties, Chantrice Horne manages the rental office, or people named Brent Tunelius, Colten Hohenthaner, Melissa Zieglowsky, Holly Hardin, or Joshua L Whetstine work for the company.

NEVER sign a lease if attorney Erek P Sittig (a City Councilman for North Liberty) is involved or affiliated with the company. Sittig said in his candidacy that he wants to “help the downtrodden” of North Liberty, but works on behalf of the most notorious and corrupt landlords in Iowa City: BRYAN CLARK.
